Dog Boarding at Hal Wheeler's Pet Resort

When leaving your dog at Hal Wheeler’s, you can be assured that the best care will be provided for you pet. Our facility offers  accommodations that will make your pet’s stay with us both comfortable and safe. Our kennel is completely enclosed, offering a climate-controlled environment and protection from adverse weather conditions (ask about our Commercial Size Generator, too!). While we use the finest foods available, if your dog requires a special diet or medication, we are equipped to adapt to his or her needs, as computerized record-keeping provides for accurate daily schedule monitoring.

 

 

 

 

SPECIALTY SUITES FOR TOY DOGS  Hal Wheeler's is now offering exclusive ultra-deluxe boarding just for the toy breeds. For those clients who want that extra special care and accommodations designed just for the smaller dogs.   Each dog has his/her own suite in an area that is restricted to small dogs only. There is no exposure or interaction with the larger pets.

Requirements for Dog Boarding 

Admissions:  The minimum age for boarding your dog is 6 months of age, and we do not board dogs over 9 years of age unless they have been staying with us on a regular basis.  

Note:  We are not equipped to handle all of the dog breeds and reserve the right to refuse service for temperament or health reasons.  Please call to discuss any extensive medical conditions, or if you might feel that your dog may be of questionable temperament. If pet is recently adopted, please call for specific requirements.

Vaccinations:  Inoculations given under 16 weeks of age are not acceptable, and the vaccines we require include: Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo, and Rabies, all of which must be given at least 7 days and not more than 1 year prior to arrival.

Belonging:  We are not responsible for your pet’s personal possessions such as - own beds, bones, toys, etc. We will provide our bedding and toys at no additional charge.

Extra Programs & Activities While Boarding:

 

Large, indoor runs aside, there are a number of additional options should you wish for your pet to  receive additional exercise and special attention.


 Pampered Pet Care:  In addition to the individual attention our guests receive, we offer Pampered Pet Care and a variety of exercise programs to those clients eager for extra special care during their pet’s stay. This service provides further individual exercise and play, as well as any special requests our guests may have.  Our Pampered Pet Care includes:

  • One-on-one playtime with a member of our staff, indoors or outdoors.

  • Completely personal attention, using both our own equipment, toys and an items you may have provided for your pet.

  • Monitored on closed-circuit television.

Outdoor Exercise:  A Large, fenced-in outdoor area equipped with toys and obstacle course - Monitored both on closed-circuit TV and by members of our staff.

Hal Wheeler's is Central and Conveniently Located for access from the "Interstate Circle" located in the center between the Garden State Parkway, I-80 & I-280  with easy access from the following New Jersey cities ringing the "Interstate Circle" to the city of Cedar Grove with Wayne to the North, Paterson to the Northeast, Clifton to the East, Bloomfield to the Southeast, West Orange to the Southwest and  Parsippany to the Northwest.  Cedar Grove is very close and convenient to the neighborhoods of  Montclair, Little Falls and Verona, New Jersey.
